blog_1

*Important changes effective from 2 October 2026*

Australia has introduced new rules for Student visa (subclass 500) applications, affecting international students who wish to bring family members or apply for another Student visa while in Australia.

Key Changes

1. Dependant Visa Restrictions

Most Student visa applicants can no longer include their spouse or dependent children in their application unless they qualify for a specific exemption. Family members generally cannot be added after the Student visa has been granted.

2. Applying for a Student Visa in Australia

Most temporary visa holders can no longer apply for a Student visa while in Australia. Certain applicants may qualify for exemptions based on their visa status and circumstances.

3. Important Information for Students

* Check your eligibility before applying.
* Review dependant options if planning to relocate with family.
* Confirm whether you must apply from outside Australia.
* Seek professional advice if you are unsure about your visa options.

Plan ahead and check the latest requirements before making your Australian study plans.
